"Free Stuff"

Eighty MPH Mom posted a 'brief' summary of what it takes to start and run a blog. The post is here.

It is a pretty amazing retinue of everything that goes into a successful blog. She describes a 'mommy blog,' but I don't think other types of blogs that deal with other themes would be any easier to run.

Since I've been doing this, I have flirted with the idea of expanding this blog and trying to get more traffic...

Mostly, though, I just post other people's giveaway and 'sweep, sweep, sweep' going after items I want. I don't even have enough discipline to post original content on any regular basis - on either one of my blogs.

Now that, sort of, spring is here in the high mountains, (it snowed three days ago, now it's in the 70's, spring can be like that here), it will be even more difficult. In other words, I have lots of ideas and lots of time when it is below zero outside. Once the weather turns nice, I still have lots of ideas, but little time I want to spend inside writing about them.

On the 20th of this month I am going to Utah to hang out with some friends - about 200 of them - at the National ATV Jamboree. There is no way I am going to miss that. I ate a lot of shredded wheat this winter to save the money to go. (Then, gas shot up to $3.79 a gallon, meaning I am going to have to eat even more shredded wheat.).

I have a goal of climbing to a fire look out by the end August of this year. From about 4200 ft. to about 8300 ft. at the top. That will take a lot of hiking to work up to. No way I am going to miss that. Besides, hiking leaves my dogs pretty exhausted and they pass out for a couple of hours after we get back. It takes me, at least, a day to recover.

Yeah, I would love free stuff - especially iPads, iMacs, Pirates of the Caribbean t-shirts and Linksys Routers..

There is no way I would be able to work that hard for 'free stuff'...

So, I'll have to settle for listing other people's giveaways and entering giveaways to win 'stuff'. Which, if you think about it, ain't all that bad...

And send out a huge, "Thank you," to bloggers who do take the time...

  1. Thank you so much for posting about my post! It is so much easier to enter giveaways (that's how I started my blog actually!).

Thanks for your kind words to bloggers as well :)
